The project
The Hub Events, a brand new company specialising in training and events co-ordination, wanted a striking new website as part of a complete brand design service provided by Fat Heads.
The requirements for the site were to allow visitors to browse all upcoming events and workshops through a multi-category search functionality with the option to then book and pay for the event for multiple delegates to attend. Fat Heads also suggested that the site would benefit greatly from a blog/news section that The Hub Events could use to provide relevant advice, information and news articles that would also promote their up-and-coming events.
Fat Heads developed a bespoke, content managed, e-commerce system to allow The Hub Events site administratiors to add, edit and remove events and workshops. The content management system (CMS) provides the functionalilty to cross-categorise, include discounts for multiple delegates and generate unique discount codes and offers to be used in promotion.
The Hub Events were very specific in terms of design not to populate the site with cheesy stock photographs of 'corporate training' and we came up with a stylish and vibrant site that doesn't rely on stock imagery whatsoever. What we did do was place a great emphasis on the new logo and colour-scheme, a good way to establish a brand, particularly for a fledgling company such as this.
