The project
Hartlepool Hospice approached Fat Heads to totally rebuild and redevelop their website as the old system had become outdated and was not able to be managed by a Content Managment System (CMS). Their website is a publicity tool for the good work that the Hospice carry out and a main source of revenue generation. We felt that the website needed to be more dynamic to advertise the events that the Hospice were promoting and encourage visitors to donate.
It was suggested that the new site should have access levels so that certain representatives from the organisation can publish devolved content particular to their areas of expertise within the Hospice.
The new design has enabled the site to have a 'portal' feel on every page, ensuring maximum visability for Hartlepool Hospice's services. As a registered charity we felt that the need for donations to the hospice needed to be highlighted in a more prominent way and this has been implemented as the main focus on the header of the new website.
We have also highlighted the weekly lottery scheme and integrated a dynamic system of receiving payments for the vast number of events that the Hospice hold on a regular basis.
The whole site is content managed with a detailed but easy-to-use back-end system.
